Selling your home in the winter

Hey Chicago homeowners, selling your home during the cold winter months can be challenging. However, with some added preparation, we can make your home the most appealing, inviting property for buyers. Here are a few of my go-to tips for making your home stand out during the winter months.

Make sure your home is well-lit. The short winter days don’t offer us a ton of opportunity for natural light. Consider adding additional lighting fixtures or replacing old bulbs with higher wattage ones to brighten up your living spaces.

Keep the exterior of your home well-manicured (not an easy feat during the winter, I know). Make sure that the exterior of your home is tidy, and that any snow or ice is cleared away. Curb appeal is everything here.

Make your home warm and inviting. Consider adding cozy touches like throws and blankets to make the spaces feel more inviting.

Winter can be a great time to show off features of your home that are particularly useful during the colder months. Features like fireplaces, heated floors, energy-efficient windows or a well-insulated attic. Highlighting such features can go a long way with buyers. Cheers!
